 Please read the following information:

In order for a school to receive the benefits mentioned above, specific Federal Guidelines must be followed. Call our offices at 844-0222 if you have any questions.

  • In schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and/or School Breakfast Program (SBP), a letter to parents that contains the reduced-price income eligibility guidelines and an application form must be provided to parents or guardians of all children in attendance at the school..., according to the Administrator's Reference Manual for the Child Nutrition Programs, Texas Education Agency, 1701 North Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas, 78701. Revised April 2001.
  • Applications are only valid for one year  (A new application must be given to students each year)
  • The Office of Food Services provides printed applications to the schools - Meal applications can also be downloaded/printed from this site
  • In addition, the meal application can now be submitted quickly and securely online at
  • If applications are downloaded, all pages in the appropriate language (English or Spanish) for the current school year must be distributed to the student
  • Parents need complete only one application for all students in a family (even if the students attend different schools)
  • Completed applications should be given to the cafeteria manager of any district school ( the application will be forwarded to the Office of Food Services and processed)
  • The Office of Food Services will then send approval or denial letters to the child(ren)'s school to be distributed to the parent/guardian
A properly approved application is effective for the entire current school year, summer school, and for the first 30 days of the following school year. After the first 30 days of the new school year have elapsed, all students without a new and currently approved application on file are expected to pay full price for their meals. When a new application is received, it supersedes any previous approval.
