About Us

Established in 1993, the Corpus Christi ISD Police Department stands as a vital guardian of safety for students, staff, and visitors across CCISD campuses. With a dedicated team of 53 sworn officers, 36 security personnel, seven dispatchers, two clerical staff members, and a specialized threat assessment investigator, this department is committed to fostering a secure learning environment.

At the helm is Chief Kirby Warnke, whose leadership is supported by a skilled command staff that includes Lieutenants Lance Howard, Burl Smith, and David Ramos, Jr. Together, they oversee three key areas of campus operations:

Zone 1: encompassing Miller and Moody VLC

Zone 2: covering Carroll and Veterans VLC

Zone 3: which includes Ray and King VLC

Under their watchful eyes, the department not only ensures safety but also builds a community where education can flourish without fear.
