Corpus Christi ISD is excited to announce the approval of 501 teachers, Pre-K through 12th grade, who have recently been designated as a Recognized, Exemplary, or Master level Teacher under the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment program (TIA). CCISD entered the TIA program beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.
CCISD now has 724 teachers designated under TIA, 282 at the Master Level, 364 at the Exemplary Level and 78 at the Recognized Level.
Made possible by the passage of House Bill 3 during the 86th Legislative Session, the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment provides a pathway for high-performing teachers to earn higher salaries while enabling districts in high-needs areas to recruit and retain highly effective teachers on their campuses. TIA elevates the teaching profession and allows districts to celebrate their top performing teachers with compensation and recognition through state teacher designations.
Teacher designation under TIA is determined based on successful student growth measures and teacher evaluation criteria set by the Texas Education Agency. Those who did not designate in the current year have an opportunity to do so in subsequent years. Once awarded, teachers will receive the allotment payout amount for five consecutive years. In CCISD, the allotment amounts range from $5,709 to $21,030.
