Corpus Christi ISD recently hosted its annual First in Family ceremony to celebrate high school seniors across the district who will be the first in their families to graduate. The event, held at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium, brought together students, families, educators, and community members to recognize this life-changing milestone.
During the ceremony, students were presented with medals to wear at graduation.
"Seniors, I urge you to make this the first of many firsts you achieve. You’ve already shown that you can set and accomplish ambitious goals. Now, take the next step—create a clear plan for what comes after you walk across that CCISD graduation stage," said Alice Upshaw Hawkins, Assistant Secretary of CCISD's Board of Trustees.
