More than 100 early childhood education leaders from across Texas gathered in Corpus Christi this week for the Texas Association of Administrators and Supervisors of Programs for Young Children (TAASPYC) annual symposium.
A major component of the conference was to observe CCISD’s approach to experiential learning in pre-Kindergarten classrooms.
Attendees visited pre-K classrooms at Metro Elementary School of Design and Mireles Elementary School to see firsthand how intentionally designed centers promote purposeful play, hands-on learning, collaboration and active student engagement.
After the visits, attendees heard specific ways CCISD is supporting future educators through partnerships, mentorship and hands-on training opportunities for high school students within the district's elementary schools.
