Corpus Christi ISD has announced two promotions at the district level.
Dr. Tracie Rodriguez, CCISD’s Director of Early College Programs and Workforce Education, as well as principal of Harold T. Branch Academy for Career and Technical Education and Collegiate High School, will serve as the district's Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership-High Schools. She follows Dr. Bruce Wilson, who is now superintendent of San Diego ISD.
Rodriguez earned her bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees and her doctoral degree from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she now serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Educational Administration/Leadership. In 2024, Rodriguez was named the Texas Association of Secondary Schools’ Secondary Principal of the Year.
"We have an exceptional leader in Dr. Rodriguez," said Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez. "The committee appreciated her groundbreaking work at the high school level, coupled with her strong ties with area higher education institutions. We look forward to her work supporting our outstanding team of high school principals."  
On the business side of the district, Corpus Christi ISD has named Myra Guzman as Director of Finance. Guzman most recently served as the district’s associate director of finance, a position she has held since 2024.
She has more than 25 years of experience in school district accounting, with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance and auditing. She has also served as a district senior accountant, internal audit specialist and substitute payroll clerk.
Guzman holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a post-baccalaureate certificate in accounting from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
“We are pleased to welcome Ms. Guzman into this leadership role,” said Hernandez said. “Her extensive experience in school district finance, along with her years of service to CCISD, provides valuable knowledge and continuity for our district.”
