2025-2026 Dress Code Policy
Purpose: The spirit of the dress code is that students wear clothing that is neat in appearance, fits properly, and does not cause or create distractions in the learning environment.
Pants, Jeans, Shorts, and Skirts/Dresses:
Pants and jeans that have rips, holes, tears, or frays above the knee must have leggings underneath.
Dresses, skirts, and shorts cannot be shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
Sagging pants are not allowed- see District Policy below. Undergarments must not be visible.
Pajamas are not allowed.
*Leggings may only be worn underneath shorts, skirts, dresses, or jumpers
Shirts and Blouses
Crewneck shirts and polo shirts with either a short or long sleeve that are free of pictures, emblems, or writing that is lewd, offensive, vulgar, obscene, gang-related or depict drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products.
*Shirts must be at or above the collarbone
Garments must cover the midriff, lower back, shoulders, and chest and may not reveal undergarments.
The following tops that are NOT allowed: Tank Tops, V-neck, scoop, and scallop tops, halter and tube tops, sheer tops/see-through material, and off-the-shoulder tops
Hoodies, Jackets, and Winter wear
Hoodies are acceptable unless they are covering clothing that is not in dress code.
The hood on hoodies are not permitted to be worn on the head at any time in the school day.
Caps, hats, and beanies are not permitted inside of the school building.
Trench coats or excessively oversized hoodies and/or jackets are not allowed.
Shoes
All shoes must have a back.
Crocs, slides, and house shoes are not allowed.
For safety reasons, specific shoes (such as closed toed shoes) may be required for athletics and lab days/activities.
Accessories and Backpacks
Clear backpacks are required per District Policy. *Gym/Athletic bags must be stored in the locker room before school and will remain in the locker room throughout the day and picked up after school.
Excessive jewelry is not allowed (dog collars, studded bands, thick chains, wallet chains, etc.).
Bandanas are prohibited.
Earbuds are not permitted at any time.
Communication Devices
All communication devices, including but not limited to, cellular devices and/or ear buds, must be powered off and placed in student’s backpacks or in the designated location given by the teacher in each classroom.
District Guidelines
“All oversized clothing shall not be worn to school. Specifically, “bagging” or “sagging” pants are prohibited. All pants are to be worn at the waist.” pg. 24, CCISD Student Handbook.
The District prohibits pictures, emblems, or writings on clothing that: *Are lewd, offensive, vulgar or obscene *Advertise or depict tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, drugs, or any other substance prohibited under FNCF (LEGAL).
