CCISD to hold drawing to determine ballot placement for upcoming trustee election At 10 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2024, the Corpus Christ Independent School District will hold a drawing to determine the order in which candidates’ names will be placed on the November ballot for the district’s board of trustees election. Each Candidate is entitled to be present to have a representative present at the drawing. District 2 • S. Corpus Christi City Council recognized Carroll High School English Teacher Ashley Love during today's meeting. Mrs. Love was presented with a commendation and a gift card. Her commendation read in part, "Her success is mirrored in the relationships she has built with her students who continue to seek her guidance and support, as they progress in their academic journeys." #CCISDproud

Community members file for CCISD Board of Trustees positions The November 5, 2024, ballot will include candidates running for four open seats on CCISD’s school board. Trustees are volunteers who serve four-year terms in one of four district positions or three at-large seats. As of the close of business Monday, Aug. 12, the candidates thus far are as follows: District 2 S. Jaime Arredondo (incumbent) Penny Kaminski At Large (3 seats) Steve Barrera Michael Bergsma Pooja Bindingnavele Don Clark (incumbent) Augustin De La Garza Jr. Samuel Fryer Alice Upshaw Hawkins (incumbent) Jane Bell, who has served as an At-Large trustee since 2012, previously announced she would not seek re-election. The application period remains open until 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 19.
