Meet Wren Jackson! Wren attended Robert Wilson Elementary School, Carl O. Hamlin Middle School and W.B. Ray High School. She is a teacher at Los Encinos Elementary School. ✏️📚
"Throughout my childhood, I had many amazing teachers who made an impact on me, but my fourth-grade teacher, Julie Putnam, sparked a special joy in me. She made everything fun, exciting, and memorable. I remember thinking that I wanted to grow up and be that person for my students, the teacher who made them excited to come to school and created memories they would carry with them. I am so grateful for every teacher, family member, mentor, and student who has helped shape me into the educator I am today."

Meet Lauren Cargill! Lauren attended Casa Linda Elementary School, Baker Middle School and Ray High School. She is the Chief Executive Officer at Mission 911.
"I had so many wonderful teachers throughout my time in CCISD who shaped who I became. What they all shared was the ability to see what I was good at and passionate about: reading, writing, creating. They didn’t just acknowledge those things; they encouraged me to push harder and be my very best. Now, through my work with Mission 911, I get to pay that forward and impact my community in ways I never imagined possible. I’m deeply grateful for what CCISD gave me. "

Thank you for your patience and support as we work to address the bus delays that have affected the start of our school year. We are especially grateful for your kindness toward our dedicated bus drivers and Transportation Office staff.
As we shared with you this summer, we believed that an earlier start and end time at our middle schools would help us manage the demands on our bus service. While conditions have improved since the start of the school year, we unfortunately continue to experience challenges with buses arriving late to school as well as delays in picking up students after school. In an effort to consistently improve on-time service, we will return to our previous schedule, starting with the second six weeks of the school year.
Beginning Monday, September 21, our middle schools will return to their previous school-day schedule of 8:50 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.
Students may enter the school 20 minutes prior to the bell. Individual schools and coaches will communicate any changes to after-school activities that may be needed because of this schedule change.
We are closely monitoring all bus routes and will continue working with our schools to communicate any additional, route-specific changes. If changes occur, we will distribute notification letters detailing the new routes and times to affected campuses, who will share the updates with bus riders’ parents. We will also update routes on the district’s website before the changes take effect. We know that reliable transportation is important to your family, and we understand how difficult delays can be when planning your day. Our goal is to help students get to and from school as safely and reliably as possible.
We appreciate your patience and continued support. Like school districts across the country, CCISD is working to provide reliable transportation while facing a significant shortage of bus drivers. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a CCISD bus driver, applications are available at ccisd.us.
Thank you for your continued understanding as we work to improve transportation for our students and families.
