Dear CCISD Families and Staff,
Thank you for your patience as we studied the possibility of changing bell schedules at selected schools to help us reduce students' time on the bus as well as to maximize bus driver staffing.
As you may know, like districts nationwide, CCISD is experiencing a continued, critical shortage of bus drivers. On May 12, we shared a survey with staff and families who potentially would be affected by bell schedule changes. Thanks to the input from this survey, we made adjustments to better accommodate family and staff schedules as well as better manage bus routes.
Starting on the first day of school, Tuesday, Aug. 11, our schools will have the following bell schedules:
Early Childhood Development Center, Metro Elementary School of Design, Windsor Park Elementary School:
8:10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (20 minutes later)
All other elementary schools
7:50 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. (no change)
Middle schools (except Metro Prep)
8:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. (20 minutes earlier)
High schools (and Metro Prep)
8:50 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. (no change)
Students may enter the school 20 minutes prior to the bell. After-care and extracurricular schedules at schools affected by schedule changes will be revised as needed, with updates provided by the respective program leads.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this issue so that we could incorporate the feedback in our final decision. We look forward to seeing our students on August 11!

Meet Jonathan Garcia!
Jonathan attended Yeager Elementary School, Browne Middle School and Carroll High School. He is a teacher and coach at Richard King High School.
"My time at CCISD gave me more than just an education—it helped shape the person I am today. It taught me the value of hard work, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. One person who made a lasting difference in my life was Coach Winegeart. He was my football coach while I attended Carroll High School, and he challenged me to be my best both on and off the field. Years later, when I began my own career as a teacher and coach, he continued to encourage and support me. Hearing him tell me he was proud of me meant more than he probably realized. "
