As Corpus Christi ISD prepares for the 2025–2026 school year, the district continues to announce new campus leadership. The district has named Jennifer Aguilar as the principal of Ella Barnes Elementary School. Aguilar most previously served as the Administrator of Academics and Accountability at Veterans Memorial High School. She also served as an Assessment and Accountability Advisor in the district’s Office of Assessment and Accountability. Aguilar follows Katherine Gorman, who will begin serving as principal of the Early Childhood Development Center in the 2025–2026 school year. “The committee is confident Mrs. Aguilar is well prepared to lead the Barnes community,” Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez said. “Her proven leadership will ensure continued excellence and forward momentum on campus.” Thursday, May 29, is the district’s last day of school. As Corpus Christi ISD prepares for the 2025-2026 school year, the district is announcing new elementary school leaders. The district has named Amanda Vasquez-Kotch as the principal of Stanley Kostoryz Elementary School. Vasquez-Kotch most recently served as assistant principal of Kostoryz Elementary School. Her prior experience includes serving as an instructional coach and a fourth grade teacher. Vasquez-Kotch follows Stevie Garcia, who was recently named principal of Lexington Middle School. Dr. Susan Croteau will serve as the principal of Joseph T. Dawson Elementary School. Dr. Croteau most recently served as an assistant principal at Club Estates Elementary School, and has served as an assistant principal at Rafael Galvan Elementary School. She follows Kimberly Ellis, who is relocating outside the Coastal Bend. Jose Valerio has been named principal of Oak Park Elementary School. Valerio most recently served as an assistant principal at James W. Fannin Elementary School. He also has served in leadership roles at W.B. Ray High School, Sam Houston and Berlanga elementary schools. Valerio follows Federico Saqui-Lara, who is relocating outside the Coastal Bend. Corpus Christi ISD is also pleased to announce Michelle Perkins will serve as the principal of Blanche Moore Elementary School. Perkins was recently named the interim principal of Moore Elementary and previously served as the campus’ assistant principal. She follows Dr. Aurelio Tamayo, who serves as principal of Roy Miller High School. “We are proud to welcome four exceptional, dedicated leaders into these key roles,” Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez said. “Their experience will ensure a smooth transition and continued strong leadership across the district.” Thursday, May 29, is the district’s last day of school.
