Johnnie Marley, math teacher at Hamlin Middle School, was recognized as Teacher of the Month during a City of Corpus Christi Council Meeting this week. 
"I love what I do and I find enjoyment doing it every day," Mr. Marley said.

Corpus Christi ISD’s trustees approved placing a $135.4 million bond proposal on the Nov. 5 ballot. The measure would not affect residents’ tax rate.

Oct. 11 is a student holiday. There is no school.  Intersession is from Oct. 14-18. There is no school. Classes resume on Oct. 21.


Corpus Christi ISD has named Maria Cavazos Director for Special Programs and Support.
Cavazos, who most recently served as an Instructional Technology Specialist, will oversee the district’s bilingual education program, early childhood education, health and physical education and JROTC. 
Cavazos earned a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Educational Technology and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, bilingual generalist, both from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. 
Additionally, she has extensive experience supporting teachers and students, and previously served as a bilingual teacher.  
“Ms. Cavazos brings a wealth of experience and commitment to teachers and students,” said Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez. “We look forward to her leadership.”
